The Program

The Teaching Schools Alliance Sydney (TSAS) offers a dynamic and immersive teacher training experience. Trainees gain real-world classroom exposure while studying with the University of New England or Alphacrucis University College, blending academic learning with hands-on teaching practice.

At TSAS, this model ensures future educators develop confidence, adaptability and expertise in classroom leadership. Rooted in a mentorship-based approach through the clinical teaching model, TSAS fosters skilled teachers who engage, inspire and create lasting impacts within their school communities.

Key Program Elements

  • 1-2 days per week working as a Teaching Assistant under the guidance of a Mentor Teacher in an Alliance school.

    • Mentor Teacher guiding growth and development

    • Personalised coaching and goal setting

    • Formation for Christian school context

  • Weekly in-person cohort training designed to equip you with essential teaching skills. Sessions cover:

    • Program design and curriculum planning

    • Classroom and behaviour management

    • Parent engagement and communication

    • Time management and workload strategies

    • Assessment and reporting

  • Gain insights from leading educational thinkers from Australia and beyond. Learn from Visiting Fellows who bring expertise and fresh perspectives to teacher training.

  • Study full time through University of New England or Alphacrucis University College. Study is online and flexible in delivery to accommodate the TSAS program.

    • Paid as a Teacher Trainee

    • Commonwealth-Supported Places for UNE

    • 50% tuition fee contribution for Alphacrucis University College

    • Conditional Accreditation Teacher Appointments for final year students
