The Clinical Teaching Model

The Clinical Teaching Model (CTM) is a hands-on, real-world approach to teacher training. Trainees are embedded in classrooms, working alongside experienced mentors while learning the theory behind great teaching.

At TSAS, this model ensures future educators are prepared, confident and capable of leading dynamic classrooms. Rooted in Christian values, the CTM develops skilled teachers who inspire, connect and make a lasting impact on their students and communities.

Quick. Practical. Effective. The CTM is how TSAS shapes tomorrow’s exceptional teachers.

  • The foundation of the CTM is real-world teaching. Trainees are embedded in classrooms from day one, where they observe, co-teach, and gradually take on greater responsibility. This hands-on approach develops confidence, classroom management skills, and an authentic understanding of teaching.

  • At the heart of the CTM is mentorship. Trainees work closely with experienced teachers who provide guidance, practical tips, and constructive feedback. This supportive relationship ensures that trainees grow both professionally and personally.

  • What you learn, you apply. The CTM ensures that theoretical knowledge from coursework directly informs classroom teaching. This seamless integration prepares trainees to make evidence-based decisions in real-time, bridging the gap between study and practice.

  • Growth comes from reflection. Trainees regularly assess their experiences, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and refine their strategies. This habit of critical self-reflection is a cornerstone of professional teaching and lifelong learning.

  • Teaching at TSAS is about more than academics. It’s about shaping lives. Rooted in Christian values, the CTM focuses on holistic development, preparing trainees to educate with compassion, integrity, and a commitment to making a lasting impact.
